Thorn Creek Basin Sanitary District Honored with Treatment Excellence Award

Thorn Creek Basin Sanitary District continues to embellish its award-winning record.

The National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA) recently presented its prestigious Silver Award to Thorn Creek Basin for the Sanitary District’s outstanding performance in wastewater treatment. The Sanitary District main treatment plant achieved an EPA discharge permit limit compliance rate of 99.97% for the entire 2023 calendar year.

“The members of the District’s Board of Trustees deserve credit and thanks for leadership that enables a hard-working organization, with a dedicated employee team, to attain this extraordinary record,” said Jennifer Hindel, Sanitary District executive director.

The Sanitary District has a consistent history of high performance, having earned three Silver Awards and two Gold Awards in the last seven years.
